ArtBeat 2017

Saturday 28 January from 10am – 4pm Cafler Park (Rose Gardens)

Whangarei’s favourite Interactive Arts Festival, ArtBeat will be held once again on Anniversary Weekend at Cafler Park (Rose Gardens), Saturday 28 January from 10am – 4pm.

This fun, one-day festival offers the community the opportunity to get creative for free, try some delicious local food, buy local clothing, jewellery and art or just sit back and watch the continuous entertainment on stage under the trees.

This year ArtBeat celebrates the event’s 21st anniversary and Creative Northland have a great party up their sleeves with an awesome line up of local entertainment on the main stage, buskers, plenty of stalls, the Fairy Grotto and the Resene Interactive Zone. Come along and take part in a special 21st birthday t-shirt competition where you can design a t-shirt and the winning design will be used at the next ArtBeat. As it’s a birthday celebration keep an eye out for random birthday presents given out on the day and to add to the celebrations we have the wonderful Luke Bird again as MC.

Creative Northland promise there will be plenty to keep everyone in the family happy. ArtBeat event coordinator Sarah Miln says “We’re really excited about it this year. It’s the 21st birthday and we’re hoping everyone will come celebrate with us and have a good time. We’ve got the ‘arts’ and ‘beats’ for you with loads of music on our main stage and the Resene Interactive Zone.”

It’s recommended you bring some cash as there will be over 40 stalls selling something for everyone in the family.

With the help and support of Whangarei District Council, ArtBeat is a safe, family, friendly event that we want the whole community to partake in – mark your calendar now as a must do!
